Our quest for great apprentices is always ongoing ….and by great, we mean passionate, driven and eager to learn! We believe in the importance of nurturing the future generation of our company.
National Apprenticeship Week runs from 4 – 8th March and allows us as a local employer to highlight the benefits of getting involved with a great apprenticeship scheme and learning key skills from experienced joiners. This week long celebration brings the whole apprenticeship community together to celebrate the impact on individuals, employers and the economy.
Following the most successful National Apprenticeship Week ever that took place last year, National Apprenticeship Week 2019 – which also coincides with National Careers Week - will look to involve more individuals, employers, partners and providers in activities that highlight the benefits apprenticeships bring to employers and the opportunities apprenticeships present to individuals.
We are also delighted that Adam and Daniel, two of our 2nd year apprentices were selected to take part in the SkillBuild competition and have made it to the final 12 at the Regional Qualifier Competition. This stage will be held on 22nd March at the Belfast Campus and whoever is successful, will move on to the advanced UK National finals. The SkillBuild competition is a great vehicle to shape apprentices confidence and self-esteem. We’re delighted to see what the future holds.
We would encourage anyone is passionate and wants a career working in furniture craft, joinery and/or shopfitting to get in touch with us at recruitment@somervilles.co.uk
