The project was carried out while working within an existing live building. Noise and vibration was kept to a minimum during office hours, with the noisy elements i.e., coring and floor tracking being undertaken out of hours. New works included extensive mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) and ventilation systems, as well as bespoke IT and AV systems. Other works included new flooring, suspended ceilings, and specialist joinery fittings to complete the open plan areas. This also included airy break out spaces, large conference rooms, kitchen, and coffee docks/eating areas. We also provided furniture, fixtures & equipment (FF&E) to meet the clients requirements.
The overall environment was designed using calming colours and neutral textures for a completely relaxed work space. The kitchen and coffee docks were dotted around the office floor, providing staff with an abundance of space to relax, meet and chat during their working day. Warm wooden floors and wooden ceiling slats, coupled with cosy banquette seating and comfortable scatter chairs gave just the right amount of ‘loft-style’ without it appearing too much like an apartment dwelling.
The thought process behind the open plan office area was to allow for a flexible, agile working environment. The smaller focus booths provided an element of discretion for more private meetings. The smaller huddle rooms and larger conference rooms were fitted with state-of-the-art smart booking systems. This allowed people to review room capacity and availability for the day and week ahead. Acoustic wall coverings provided ample soundproofing in the rooms.
