Working in collaboration with Belfast-based architectural consultants WDR Taggarts, we delivered this substantial commercial office fit-out over two floors. We embarked on this fit-out project over 14 weeks, which covered 15,000sqft of prime commercial space.
The reception is bright and spacious - made up of flexible seating, a range of birch ply furniture and bold wall graphics – which sets the scene for a welcoming commercial workspace. Covering a vast square footage over two floors, the exposed industrial-style ceilings provides a more spacious appearance with greater aesthetic appeal. Built for a 100+ strong workforce, staff have the option to hot desk from ergonomic sit-stand desks, all with acoustic privacy screens.
This open plan, commercial space was designed to enable flexile and agile working for its workforce. With several large boardrooms to avail of, employees have plenty of comfortable, spacious rooms for presentations and formal meetings. Smaller meeting rooms are also on hand for informal group or one to-one meetings, as well as work booths - for individuals who want a quiet space for private working or phone calls. There are a series of open plan breakout areas for casual catch-ups and snug seating scattered across both floors. Having this flexible furniture setup and a variety of meeting spaces allows staff to adapt to their specific working needs.
The two floors are accessible via the industrial style stairwell, where you’re greeted by fabulous street art, portraying some inspirational historians.
To cater for such a large workforce, requires a super-sized kitchen and sociable breakout space. And what better way to get the team together than with a huge bleacher seating space and accompanying giant beanbags. We manufactured all the bleacher seating in birch ply, which gave a contemporary format for a relaxed and sociable breakout area. The backdrop to this space is an eye-catching customised mural, giving a nod to the teams of individuals ESO work with in the safety and healthcare communities. With the words ‘Make a Difference’ emblazed across the walls, reveals the true nature of ESO and what they’re about as an organisation.
Across from the bleacher seating is a huge, open plan kitchen – offering vast amounts of storage, cupboard space, food preparation areas and multiple appliances to accommodate a busy workforce. The kitchen consists of an oversized island unit, with ample storage underneath. Surrounding this is a hand-crafted midnight blue kitchen including its very own beer pump, embedded within a walnut bar area - perfect for Friday drinks. We manufactured the feature bulkhead above, made from walnut batons which adds a richness to the overall contemporary scheme.
Like the agile workspaces at ESO, the kitchen offers a similar flexibility for its team, with a range of high-level bar stools, low-level chairs, sofas, and banquette seating.
