Along with the office fit-out, we manufactured a significant amount of furniture, including a beautiful reception desk, comfortable booth seating, an open plan kitchen, and numerous private meeting pods. At the entrance reception, visitors are offered a warm welcome with its use of European Oak and contemporary charcoal furnishings. The reception counter was manufactured in solid Oak with a wall of Oak fins, providing an aesthetic backdrop reflecting the Workrise brand.
The urban-style kitchen is spacious and sociable with an open plan layout. We used raw materials including stone, concrete, and exposed brickwork and combined it with Oak ceiling baffles, an island unit, and a selection of comfortable seating. The green tables and eye-catching moss wall give a nod to the biophilia trend carried throughout the office space.
Biophilic design has become a hugely popular trend within the office environment. Workrise harnessed this concept to encourage greater connectivity to the natural environment by incorporating plants and greenery into their commercial space. Biophilia is known to provide health and wellbeing benefits to staff by making them feel happier, positive, and more productive.
We were briefed to create several different feature pieces within the new offices. Firstly, we manufactured a giant planter that was positioned near the entrance. Clad in granite, the abstract shaped container was filled with lush green shrubs, bringing an air of calm to the space. Another feature was the Oak walls, filled with plants. As well as creating a serene space the walls also acted as space dividers, offering soft partitions between different zones in the office.
Workrise wanted a selection of agile furniture to provide complete flexibility within their new work environment, offering staff an abundance of comfortable areas to strategize as well as socialise.
Like so many new commercial workspaces – having an agile, flexible environment is essential for the new way of working. An attractive and agile open plan space was created to support a more collaborative work environment for current and future requirements to ensure flexibility. A variety of spaces were created depending on individual requirements including ‘one person’ and ‘two people’ work pods for solo or dual working. These snug little spaces were fitted out with acoustic walls and glass doors to make a cosy spot giving the user total peace and quiet.
The larger boardrooms are equipped for collective gatherings with comfortable seating, oversized TV screens and branded whiteboards. Frosted glass allows for enough privacy during the meeting but equally, plenty of natural light to flood in. The smaller meeting rooms are modelled on the same theme.
The selection and range of flexible seating within the office is outstanding. From high level bar stools, comfortable banquette seating and booth seating to low level bleacher seating, cushioned pods, and ergonomic desk chairs – there is everything to suit your every need and mood and work style.
